For those who, like me, have commitments on the Saturday and can't get to the Mud Crab munchers weekend; but still want a paddle. Here is a biggun, a Tweed River cafe crawl, the 'Cafe to Cafe to Pub' trip. It was going to be a Pub to Pub to Pub, but commonsense dictated the caffeine substitution for alchohol.

The put in will be the opposite corner from the cafe in Chinderah, just past the pub. Take the first exit after the bridge across the Tweed River at Barneys point. Follow the signs to Chinderah. Go past the turn off to Kingscliff and you'll reach the Pub in a kilometre or two. The main road takes a left turn, however the launching ramp is to the right. Find a park and then look for the white Subaru with a Mirage 580. It should be around somewhere; or at least arriving soon.

The event will take about 8 hours, with the paddling duration about 4-5.The paddle will be around 22-24 kilometres, depending on the amount of winding through the islands. We will attempt to follow the tide, so a favourable current should be with us.
Mob Phone, first aid kit, water, food, suncream. Spray deck as sometimes chop develops on a falling tide.
