Please join Cathy and I on a three day Queen’s Birthday Weekend paddle on the Upper Noosa River. We will leave from Elanda Point on Lake Cootharaba, and paddle to Campsite 2 in Cooloola National Park where we will camp for 2 nights.
Saturday we will paddle across Lake Cootharaba to Kinaba Information Centre for a brief stop, before continuing across the beautiful Fig Tree Lake and further on to Harry’s Hut for morning tea. We will continue to Campsite 2 for lunch, a lazy afternoon, and sun-downers whilst watching the beautiful reflections on the river.Ian Narborough
Sunday, for those who wish, we can paddle the short distance to Campsite 3 before walking to the Cooloola Sandpatch. This walk will take us through coastal heath along a low sandy ridge before walking up through Blackbutt forest, with grass tree understorey, to the Cooloola Sandpatch for panoramic views over the ocean and national park.
Monday will see us make an early departure from Campsite 2 back to Elanda Point.
